Every Female Shares in Saint Mary's Majestic Dignity
By: Mr. nagi Philips
+ This plan is already manifest in the Old Testament, with the creation narrative that introduces the first couple created in the image of God Himself: "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27). Needless to say woman, no less than man, bears God's image in herself. This means that, since her appearance on the earth as a result of the divine action, she too is appreciated: "God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good" (Genesis 1:31). According to this view, the difference between man and woman is only in physical stature.
+ God's intention goes well beyond what is revealed in the Book of Genesis. In fact, in Saint Mary God created a feminine personality, which greatly surpasses the ordinary condition of woman as it appears in the creation of Eve.
+ Saint Mary's unique position in grace and perfection are fruits of
the particular Divine plan that seeks to raise everyone, men and women,
to the moral perfection and holiness which are proper to the adopted
children of God. Saint Mary is "blessed among women"; however, every
woman shares in some way in her majestic dignity in the Divine plan.
+
God’s respect for women is manifest in the person of Saint Mary. Women
need to discover this Divine esteem in order to be ever more aware of
their lofty dignity.
+ In Saint Mary God has such high
esteem for woman that any form of discrimination on our part would be
lacking the Christian mentality that is befitting children of God.
+
In the light of God’s gift bestowed upon Saint Mary, men will be able
to acquire a fuller and more balanced view of their identity, of the
family and of society.
+ Despite limits
imposed by her social condition, Saint Mary exercised a vast influence
on the destiny of humanity. In Saint Mary all of us are called to trust
the Lord.
+ In view of the shameful exploitation that
sometimes makes women an object without dignity, destined for the
satisfaction of base passions, Saint Mary reaffirms the purity of
feminine beauty as a gift and reflection of God's beauty.
+
Saint Mary’s holiness encourage all Christians to open themselves to
the sanctifying power of the Grace of God, for whom nothing is
impossible.
+ In Saint Mary, all of us are called to put total trust in the Divine Plan of Love.
